Ddraig builds independent desktop software. One person, one inbox, one product shipping today, more in build.
Founder
Jay Parry
British software engineer.
Lives in Wales.
I've been writing software for a living long enough to watch the productivity tools I relied on get worse. The same apps that used to launch instantly and respect the machine they ran on now want a sign-in, a subscription, and a server-side rendezvous before they will let me type.
Ddraig is what I am building instead. Native desktop apps that do useful work, sold once, owned forever, run offline. Rust where the work happens, TypeScript where the surface needs it, no telemetry phoning home about what you did with the thing you bought.
It is not a venture. It is not a team. It is one engineer, in Wales, with a long memory of how this kind of software used to work, and a view that it can be that way again.

The name
Y Ddraig Goch.
The red dragon on the Welsh flag. It carries a kind of quiet pride that does not need explaining and will not be translated on the page. The URL teaches the pronunciation.
Wales has a long history of building things in small workshops with a clear idea of who they were for. This is one of those.
